Operation workforce Program

Building Skills. Creating Opportunity.

Operation Workforce is designed to empower homeless and at-risk veterans to achieve long-term economic self-sufficiency through comprehensive career development, employment services, supportive case management, and ongoing professional advancement. Recognizing that sustainable employment is closely connected to stable housing, mental wellness, and financial security, the program provides individualized services that address the unique challenges veterans face while building a clear pathway toward meaningful careers. Every participant begins with a comprehensive assessment that evaluates employment history, military experience, educational background, credentials, housing stability, mental health, financial literacy, transportation needs, and other potential barriers to employment. This assessment forms the basis of an Individual Employment and Career Development Plan that establishes measurable goals, timelines, and a personalized strategy for achieving long-term success.

Throughout the program, each veteran works closely with a dedicated case manager and employment specialist who provide intensive career coaching, regular progress monitoring, and coordination of supportive services. Veterans participate in structured job readiness training that strengthens essential workplace skills, including resume development, interview preparation, professional communication, digital literacy, time management, conflict resolution, and military-to-civilian skills translation. Participants are then connected to industry-focused training programs that align with regional workforce demands, leading to industry-recognized credentials in high-growth fields such as healthcare, construction, commercial driving, logistics, information technology, cybersecurity, manufacturing, energy, skilled trades, facility maintenance, and public safety. Whenever possible, veterans gain valuable work experience through paid internships, apprenticeships, transitional employment, on-the-job training, or other work-based learning opportunities that provide immediate income while strengthening employment history.

Operation Workforce emphasizes strong partnerships with employers to create direct hiring pathways for veterans. Dedicated employer engagement staff recruit veteran-friendly businesses, organize hiring events, educate employers on veteran hiring incentives, and cultivate long-term relationships with companies that offer competitive wages, employee benefits, career advancement opportunities, and inclusive workplace environments. Recognizing that employment success depends on more than technical skills, the program integrates trauma-informed mental health services, PTSD support, substance use recovery resources, peer support, crisis intervention, and stress management into each participant's employment plan. Veterans also receive financial literacy education covering budgeting, credit repair, debt management, banking, tax preparation, savings strategies, and homeownership readiness, along with supportive services such as transportation assistance, work clothing, tools, childcare, food assistance, housing navigation, legal aid, technology access, and emergency financial assistance to reduce barriers that may otherwise prevent long-term employment success.

A distinguishing feature of Operation Workforce is its commitment to long-term retention and career advancement rather than simply securing initial employment. Veterans continue receiving career coaching, employer mediation, professional development guidance, and additional certification opportunities for at least twelve months after job placement to support wage growth, promotions, and sustained employment. Veteran peer mentors further strengthen the program by providing encouragement, accountability, workplace guidance, recovery support, and assistance navigating available resources from individuals who have successfully overcome similar challenges. Through a multidisciplinary team of workforce professionals, case managers, employer relations specialists, training coordinators, and peer mentors, the program measures success using outcomes such as credential attainment, employment placement, wage growth, employment retention, housing stability, and participant satisfaction. By integrating housing stability, comprehensive case management, behavioral health services, employer partnerships, paid work experience, career training, and long-term support, Operation Workforce creates a holistic pathway that enables veterans and their families to achieve lasting financial independence, permanent housing stability, and an improved quality of life.
